ACC drive against illegal possession of govt quarters

Dhaka, Dec 7 – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started drive against illegal occupation of the government quarters by some officials in Dhaka and Chattagram. After taking into the cognizance of allegations of occupying the government quarters by some government officials through taking bribe, the members of the ACC’s enforcement committee have made two separate drives in Dhaka and Chattagran in order to freeing the government quarters from the illegal occupants.
On December 5, the ACC conducted a drive in Chattagram led by its deputy director Mahbubul Alam and freed a government quarter from Agrabad area from the illegal occupation.
On December 6, the ACC conducted another drive in Dhaka led by its deputy director Md Mahmud Hasan and assistant director Moyenul Hasan Rawshani to investigate the mismanagement and illegal occupation through bribe of the government quarters.
In its drive, the ACC found a number of government quarters have been occupied by some officials through bribe giving and taking.
Talking to Journalists ACC Director General Muhammad Munir Chowdhury said that they have conducted drive against illegal occupation in the government’s housing sector.
“The commission will pay zero tolerance over the mismanagement and illegal occupation of the government’s quarters. The officials those who were involved in irregularities and illegal occupation of the government quarters should bring under the justice and give exemplary departmental punishment so that none can dear to commit such irregularities in future,” he said.
In response to a query, he said that the commission would continue its drive against mismanagement and illegal occupation of the government quarters.- Staff Reporter
