CHITTAGONG: Robbers looted 200 tolas gold from a jewelry shop in Baryerhat Mosque Lane area under Mirsarai upazila of the district on Sunday evening.The owner of the shop Ruposhi Jewelers—Redawan—was injured during the robbery as he prevented them.
He was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said a spot account of the incident.
A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Sujaul Haque was also injured while the robbers exploded cocktails in the area.
Witnesses told that the robbers entered the shop like a customer. They confined the customers and stabbed the owner.
Later, they looted 200 tolas gold from the shop and managed to flee the scene by exploding cocktails.
Officer-in-Charge of Mirsarai Thana Iftekhar Hasan told banglanews that, on information, police rushed to the spot.
He said, “We will investigate into the incident.”
