6 CU students face action

Chittagong – The authorities of Chittagong University have expelled a student and suspended five others on various charges. UNB news agency reported
Of them, Walidur Rahman, a student of the CU Finance Department, has been expelled for beating an on-duty doctor of the university medical centre on March 10.
Tasnim Shikdar of the English Department, Shahriar Chowdhury Emon of the Music Department, Shahraz Chowdhury of the History Department, Mahmud Hasan of the Philosophy Department and Ziaur Haq Majumdar of the Anthropology Department have been suspended for six months each.
The action was taken against the former for beating up the CU unit convener of Students Front Fazle Rabbi on April 19 and latter four for assaulting university student Shafiul Minhaz on the same day.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Board of Residence Health and Disciplinary Committee recently, said CU Proctor Mohammad Ali Asgar Chowdhury on Tuesday.
