Passengers will lose 80 percent of the total ticket fare each from now on if they miss any flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BBA).
The management of BBA decided that 20 percent of the total ticket fare will be refunded if any of its passengers misses any flight.
Biman source said Biman management implemented the new policy “forcefully” suggested by the Board of directors of the airlines.
According to board of directors of the airlines, Biman is a loss-making organisation and to recover those losses 80 percent ticket fare will be deducted from the total amount in case of any flight miss.
Earlier, 80 percent of ticket fare was refundable.
In January this year, Biman board of directors took the decision from a meeting.
On the other hand, terming this decision illogical and suicidal, marketing department of the airlines opposed it. But board members asked to implement it without delay to recover loss.
