Injured BCL man dies: Hartal again in Tangail

The district Chhatra League called a half-day hartal for Wednesday in Tangail municipality area in protest against killing of Abdul Kader Bapon, the organizing secretary of district Chhatra League.

Injured Bapon, who received serious injury during hartal hours on January 20, succumbed to his injuries at Anam Medical College Hospital of Savar on Tuesday afternoon while he was undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, hearing the death news, the leaders and supporters of Chhatra League demonstrated in the district town.

Later, the Awami League, Chhatra League and Swechhasebak League of the district blockaded road and staged rally protesting against the killing.

On January 20, a half-day hartal was observed in the district protesting the murder of Faruk Ahmed, the Freedom Fighter and Awami League leader.

During the hartal the supporters of hartal and anti-hartal groups locked into clash, leaving Bapan critically injured.

Later, Bapan was rushed to Tangail General Hospital. As his condition was deteriorating he was transferred to Anam Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. banglanews24.com
