Blast near car that was to carry Indian HC

Khulna: Bomb blased in front of a car of the Khulna City Corporation, which was to carry Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Pankaj Saran on Friday. Three people were injured in the blast.During the blast, the Indian envoy was holding a meeting with leaders of local Chamber of Commerce on the chamber bhaban premises.
The injured were identified as police constable Liton and jeep driver Korshed and another driver Abdul Jabbar.
Of the injured, Jabbar was admitted to Sadar Hospital in critical condition while the rest took first aid.
Confirming the incident, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Shahabuddin said unidentified miscreants hurled three crude bombs targeting the Pajero Jeep, which was parked on the chamber premises at about 8pm.
“The Jeep remained intact despite the attack. We are searching the culprits involved in the incident”, said the OC.
The Indian envoy came here from Bagerhat in the vehicle in the evening on his way to the capital after attending a programme in that district.  UNB
