Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said BNP will set up ‘ Gonotranta’ ( Democracy) stages across the country with a view to establish democracy, rule of law and freedom of judiciary.
He came up with the discloser while addressing a discussion on the language movement at National Press Club on Friday.
While talking about the war crime trial, the former minister said, “The government has implemented double- standard policy regarding the issue.”
Mentioning that BNP also want trial of war criminals, Moudud said, “They demanded capital punishment for accused war criminals despite of having no evidences. On the other hand, they are talking about establishing rule of law.”
Terming Shahbagh protest as suicidal, he said, “It will create problems for the government in the upcoming days.”
Meanwhile, the opposition leader said, “BNP would join the Shahbagh movement with the 16 crore people of the country if it talks about protecting the democracy.
