Govt signs credit deal with WB

Bangladesh Government and International Development Association of World Bank (WB) signed a credit deal of Tk 274 crore on Wednesday morning.

Additional Secretary of Economic Relations Division Arastray Khan and Dhaka Office of World Bank Acting Director Salman Jahir signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides at NEC Bhaban in the city.

According to the deal, measures will be taken for reducing damage of forestation, climate change adaptation in coastal and hill tracks areas of the country.

In the deal signing programme, representatives from other donor agencies, including Bangladesh government and World Bank, were also present.

Besides, the project will be implemented at some nine upazilas within 2013 and 2016 under forest department under Environment and Forest Ministry and Aranyak Foundation Bangladesh.banglanews24.com
