Jan 9:A man was killed and two others injured in a gunfight of two groups at Jalpara area of Chengi union under Panchhari upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Kalo Prio Chakma, 38, an activist of Shantu Larma group.
The identity of the injured could not be known immediately.
The gunfight was took place between Chittagong Hill Tracks Janasanghati Samity and reformist Janasanghati Samity (MN Shantu Larma) groups for establishing supremacy in the area.
Officer-in-Charge of Panchhari Thana Alamgir Hossain told banglanews that they have sent the police forces and the body would be brought in the thana.
BGB-20 Battalion personnel were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation, he added. Banglanews24.com
