18-party hartal April 9,10 if leaders not released

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was scheduled to sit with the top leaders of her party-led 18-party alliance on Saturday night to discuss the country’s fast-evolving political situation amid Hefaja-e-Islami’s movement. The meeting will start at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office around 9pm, BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed told journalists.
BNP sources said Khaleda will elaborately discuss with the alliance leaders the prospect of the Hefajat’s movement and devise the alliance’s strategy to deal with the evolving political situation.
They will also finalise the next course of action programmes to be announced from the alliance’s April-10 rally scheduled to be held in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office to press home their various demands, including restoration of the caretaker government.
