Lowest 3°C temperature in Syedpur

DHAKA: The record lowest 3° Celsius temperature has been recorded in Syedpur of Nilphamari on Thursday.According to met office, The lowest minimum temperature of the country is likely to be (03 – 04)°C and the highest maximum temperature may be (20 – 21)°C.
A severe cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the regions of Tangail, Mymensingh, Sitakunda, Rangamati, Comilla, Srimangal, Jessore & Kushtia and moderate cold wave is sweeping elsewhere over the country and it may continue, the met office said.
Thursday’s minimum temperature 03.5°C in Rangpur city, 04.8°C in Rajshahi city, 07.6°C was recorded in Dhaka city, 9.0°C in Chittagong city,  07.6°C in Khulna city and 08.5°C in Sylhet city.
Met office also forecasted that weather is likely to remain dry with tempo. Thick fog may occur over the river basins and moderate to thick fog may occur elsewhere over the country during mid night till noon.
Senior meteorologists of the Met office Sadikul Alam an d Rasheduzzaman confirmed it to banglanews.
Earlier on Wednesday, the record lowest 3.2° Celsius temperature has been recorded in Dinajpur after liberation of the country.
In 1968, the lowest 2.8 degrees Celsius temperature had been recorded in Srimangal.
Met office also forecasted that weather is likely to remain dry with tempo.
Thick fog may occur over the river basins and moderate to thick fog may occur elsewhere over the country during midnight till noon.
