The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday seized 1.3 kilograms of heroin from a trafficker in Chittagong’s New Market area.
RAB-7 SP Sakhawat Hossain told bdnews24.com that the seizure was made from one Mushfiqur Rahman, 30, who was apprehended with the heroin around 8:00am. “He is son of Mohammad Musa Haque from Rajshahi’s Matikata.”
The RAB official said the youth was arrested on specific information that he was carrying the heroin for sale in Chittagong.
“A total of 13 packets containing 1kg and 300g of heroin was seized from his handbag,” Sakhawat Hossain said.
Hossain said Mushfiqur had brought the heroin from Rajshahi for sale in Chittagong. “He is engaged in this business for a long time.”
SP Sakhawat put the value of the seized heroin at around Tk 13,000,000.
