Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said the much-awaited Padma Bridge would be constructed with local funding.“Some Tk 20,000 crore will be spent in the project in next four-year’s budget and the construction of approach road will begin within few months,” she said.
The premierwas addressing a views exchange meeting after inaugurating Padma Bridge construction yard in Jazira site of the district in the morning.
Sheikh Hasina said, “The construction will be completed in several phases and we have created four satellite towns for the people who gave land for the project.”
She said, “Despite of all conspiracies against Padma Bridge, we will begin the construction with the help of the people.”
