Rajshahi, Jan 11 – Recovery of Maslin technology is a great achievement in Mujib Barsha. It is immensely important to retain the heritage of Bangalees, said textile and jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi here today. The Minister said this as the chief guest at a conference named ‘Maslin Prajukti Punaruddhar Prakalpa’ held at Rajshahi University Botany department.
Golam Dastagir Gazi said, earlier I was not sure if the scientists would be able to recover the Maslin or not. But they did not give up and now they have succeeded.
Prime minister said that the scientists will be provided with everything that is necessary for the project. We will try to get maslin reached to common people of our country at affordable prices, he added.
Rajshahi University vice-chancellor professor M Abdus Sobhan chaired the conference while a member of the research project Manjur Hossain conducted the programme. Rajshahi City Corporation mayor A H M Khairuzzaman Liton, Rajshahi-2 MP Fazle Hossain Badsha, secretary of textile and jute ministry Lokman Hossain Mia, RU pro-vice-chancellors Ananda Kumar Saha and Choudhury M Zakaria, among others, were present at the conference. – RU Correspondent
