Sedition Case against Babunagari, Mamunul, Foizul: Report May 19

A Dhaka court on Thursday fixed May 19 for submission of the report in two cases filed against Ameer Junayed Babunagari and Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque of Hefajat-e-Islam over dishonouring the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the name of anti-sculpture statement. Magistrate Sattabroto Sikder of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Thursday.
The two cases were filed with the CMM Court of Dhaka on December 7 of last year. Of the two cases, Mamunul Haque was arrested in a case while Junayed Babunagari and Islami Andolon Nayeb-e-Ameer Foizul Karim have been made accused in the other case.
Muktijuddo Moncho President Aminul Bulbul and lawyer Abdul Malek filed the two cases respectively.
In the case, the complainants said fundamentalist evil force Mamunul Haque and Faizul Karim threatened to throw the sculpture of Bangabandhu into the river Buriganga, which is anti-constitution of the country and against the spirit of the Liberation War, and also a seditious offence.
