Shab-e-Meraj tonight

Dhaka, Mar 11: The holy Shab-e-Meraj will be observed in the country tonight (Thursday night) with due religious fervour.
On the 27th of Arabic month of Rajab every year, the Muslims observe the Shab-e-Meraj, the night when Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) embarked on a special journey to meet the Almighty Allah.
According to Islam, the Great Prophet (PBUH) was transported from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, from where he ascended to Heaven.
In the journey, the Prophet travelled on the “Buraq” (Swift Horse) to Heaven where the Almighty gave him some instructions to take back to the faithful regarding the details of prayers.
On the occasion, Muslim devotees will offer special prayers at mosques and homes across the country seeking blessings of Allah, the Merciful, for the welfare of the entire nation and the Muslim Ummah, reports UNB.
