A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Sylhet metropolitan Jamaat ameer and also former president of central shibir Eahsanul Mahbub Jubaer from capital’s Uttara area early Sunday.
Police source said a team of RAB-1 picked him up from a hotel of Uttara area at about 3am.
Confirming the matter, Kotwali thana OC Ataur Rahman said, “He is wanted in 25 cases. Those cases were filed against him for his alleged involvement in vandalism, clashes and subversive activities during the last four year.”
Source said he went Dhaka in order to seek bail in some cases filed against him. UNB
