At least one person has been killed and several others injured when a part of the Partex Group pavilion caved in at the International Trade Fair in Dhaka.
The victim was identified as Rony Das, 28, a staff of Partex Plastics working at the pavilion.
The second floor of the pavilion caved in at around 2:30pm on Saturday, the pavilion’s Manager Nazim Khan told bdnews24.com.
However, the main structure of the pavilion has not been affected.
A security official at the pavilion, Abdus Sabur, told bdnews24.com that he was on the first floor of the two-storied structure at the time of the collapse.
Sub-Inspector Kamal Hossain told bdnews24.com that Das was rushed to the Shuhrawardy Medical College where doctors declared him dead.
He said rescue efforts were called off at around 6pm and the stall closed down.
