Trial of Tripura girls’ murderers urged in Rajshahi

Rajshahi, May 24 – Demanding the trial of killing after the rape of two ethnic minorities Tripura community girls in Chittagong the Adivashi Chattra Parishad Central Committee has formed a human chain in Rajshahi. The program was held at the Zero point intersection of the city on Wednesday at 10.00am.
Moderated by general secretary Tarun Munda and presided over by president of the Parishad Nokul Pahan , Office secretary Subash Chandra Hembram, Former president of the Parishad Bivuti Vushan Mahato, publishing secretary Bashudeb Mahato, publicity secretary Palash Lahan, Columnist Prashanto Kumar Saha, President of the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Sajahan Ali Barjahan, president of the Rajshahi College unit Sabitri Hembram spoke at the
programme.
Speakers said, the government has totally failed to ensure the justice for the ethnic minority communities and the women of the communities are being killed and raped continually.
They condemned this heinous incident and to bring the perpetrators to justice immediately.
On May 18 at Mahadevpur hill under the Sitakunda Upazila of the Chittagong, two ethnic minority girls were killed after the rape and the killers hanged the bodies pouring poison in their mouth in a bid to show the incident as a case of suicide.
The police arrested prime accused Abul Hossain, 25, at Mahadevpur on Saturday in this connection. – Rajshahi Correspondent
