A woman was killed as a train knocked her down at Baraitala area under Shyampur of the city on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nasima Akter, 45, wife of Sajal Mia, hailed from Bhola district.
Nirob, relative of the deceased, told banglanews that a Kamlapur-bound train knocked her down while she was walking through the rail track in the area, leaving her injured critically.
Locals rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared her dead, he added.
