Dhaka – Speakers at a function yesterday put emphasis on the need to ensure quality and balanced feed for poultry, fish and livestock for availability of required protein and nutrient for the people and flourishing the sector in Bangladesh.The use of low quality of feed not only decreases production of poultry, fish and cattle spices rather it brings harm to the public and animal health making farmers losers as well, they said.
Inaugurating the activities of Toyo Feed Limited, a sister concern of Dhaka Group, as the chief guest, Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said the quality feed for poultry, fish and cattle only can guarantee the availability of healthy poultry, fish and cattle species.
He called upon the businessmen to invest in the poultry sector afresh, saying that the present government is sincere to meet the required protein and nutrient of the people.
That’s why the government encourages investment in the poultry sector that created a vast opportunity for the unemployed educated youths, he said.
The former health minister said he came to know that there is no harmful chemical element in Toyo Feed for poultry, fish and cattle and expects that it would help people to get healthy and protein and nutrient.
The function was held at Bashundhara International Convention Centre in Dhaka with managing director of Toyo Feed Limited Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda, FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad, director Fazle Fahim, managing director of South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank Rafiqul Islam, AKM Mahbubur Rahman and Nururl Islam, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
The Toyo Feed Limited produces DG feed which is highly balanced with essential amino-acids, calcium, phosphorous and it will not damage public or animal health at all, said the organisers.
The poultry, fisheries and livestock sectors play an important role in the development of agro-based economy of the country. They contribute around 8 per cent to national income, which is about 32 per cent of the total agricultural income, they said. – Staff Reporter
