Dhaka – The 2nd edition of the BGMEA Cup Football Tournament, organised by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), began on Thursday at International Turkish Hope School (ITHS) ground in Uttara.BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman inaugurated the 16-team inter-garments football tournament in the afternoon. BGMEA Vice-President Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu, ITHS Chairman Bedrittin Suata and Leo Entertainment Managing Director Reazur Rahman were present.UNBSixteen inter-garments football teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the three week long seven-a-side meet to be played on weekends basis only. The tournament will conclude on March 24 through final match at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Banani. Leo Entertainment Sports Management has been named as event partner of the tournament.Participating teams are:Group A : Defending champions Bando Design Ltd, Babylon Group,Mehnaz Styles & Craft and Rayontex Group ,Group B : Comfit Composite Knit Ltd of Youth Group, Epyllion Group, Musk Trousers and Interstoff Apparel.Group C : Apparel Industry, Majumder Group, Setara Group and Torque Fashions,Group D: Sterling Group, Ananta Group, Nassa Group and Versatile Group.The sponsors and partners of the tournament are: United Commercial Bank Ltd, Prime Bank Ltd, JUKI, Sailor, Rising Group, Sterling Stocks and Securities Ltd, BUFT, Amaze Power, New Auto Galaxy, Vertex Group, BBS Cables, Ananta Group, Mampower, Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, AC World, Qubee and ITHS.
