Dhaka – The Independence Cup Handball competition (men’s and women’s) began today at Handball stadium in the city.Renowned sports organizer and Bangladesh Awami League central committee’s youth and sports affairs secretary Harun Ur-Rashid formally inaugurated the meet as chief guest.agencyOn the first day’s fixture of men’s division matches, Quantam Foundation, beat Bangladesh Red by 27-17 goals after leading the first half by 12-4 goals while Bangladesh Police team defeated Bangladesh Green team by 42-14 goals.In the women’s division matches, Bangladesh Police defeated Bangladesh Red team by 24-7 goals while BJMC outplayed Bangladesh Green team by 36-7 goals. Organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF), a total of eight-team – four from men’s division and four from women’s division- are competing in the five-day meet.
