Dhaka – Hosts Green University and Fareast University reached the final of the Walton Inter-University Football Tournament, Faraaz Challenge Cup, eliminating their rivals in the semifinals at Kamalapur Stadium here on Monday.Fareast University beat City University by 2-1 goals in the first semifinal while Green University defeated BRAC University by 3-0 goals in the 2nd semifinals. Ahsanullah of Fareast University and Rana of Green University were adjudged the best players of their respective matches.The final of the tournament will be held on Wednesday (July 26) at 4pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.Earlier in the quarterfinals, City University beat IUB by 1-0 goal while Green University defeated ULAB by 2-1 goals, Fareast University defeated IUBAT by 1-0 goal and BRAC University, riding on a hat-trick by Rakin, outplayed Daffodil University by 6-0 goals at the same venue.UNB news agency
