BPL: Solomon at the death maintains Sk Jamal’s 100% record

Dhaka- A last minute goal by Nigerian striker forward Solomon King enabled Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to maintain their all-win start in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), to shock Sheikh Russel KC by 2-1 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.With the day’s victory, Sheikh Jamal DC shared the top slot in the league with Chittagong Abahani Limited securing full nine points from straight three matches while Sheikh Russel KC remained at four points, also playing three matches.Both the team spoiled a couple of chances in either half of the match, but it was Solomon King who made all the difference in the end.At the start though, Gambian forward Mamadou Bah put former champions Sheikh Jamal DC ahead in the 8th minute with a header beating Sheikh Russel custodian Ziaur Rahman, capitalizing on curved corner by Enamul Haque from the right flank (1-0). Midfielder Khalekuzzaman Sobuj leveled the margin for Sheikh Russell KC in the 37th minute with a fierce left footer at the far post of the net, utilizing a lob of skipper Shahedul Alam from top of the box (1-1).When the match was almost heading for 1-1 draw, then substitute Solomon, who took the field in the place of Rafael, found the net with a precise left footer just seconds before the final whistle to break the hearts of Sheikh Russel KC (2-1) Earlier, ten minutes after the lemon break, Sheikh Jamal came close to take the lead again.
