Popular actress Moushumi has recently expressed her grief over the demise of iconic artist Abdur Razzak. Terming his death as ‘an irreplaceable loss of our industry’, Moushumi delivered a heart-rending statement.
“I can’t stress on his importance in our film fraternity. He is just not a guardian figure to us, but to our industry as well. I probably can’t emphasize on our industry’s loss because of his demise, but it can be said that he will remain irreplaceable.”
Moushumi and Razzak, stars of two different eras, have worked together quite a lot. “I always knew that he loved and adored me a lot. And I understood my love for him after I heard the news of his death. It was crushing,” said an emotional Moushumi.
Notably Razzak, who passed away on Monday, has been laid to rest at Banani Graveyard in Dhaka on Wednesday. “Even before 71 happened, Razzak sir fought and led a different war. He led our whole cinema scene from the front row,” said Moushumi. Addressing him as “the star of Bangla films, hero of the mass”, Moushumi said that Razzak is an idol to many.
“Every star that Dhallywood produced, followed Razzak sir’s ideals. We had him to look up to, something the next generation of starlets is definitely going to miss,” expressed the actress. “The void that his death created in our film industry cannot be fulfilled. All I can say is that I’ve lost a parent, a guardian,” Moushumi concluded.
