A memorial programme plus film screenings have been arranged today to pay tribute to the recently deceased veteran actor Abdur Razzak. The discussion session of the programme will start at 5pm at the Seminar Room of National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh (FFSB) has organised the event. Two films played by Razzak will be screened before the memorial programme as part of the initiative taken by FFSB.

The first film will be screened at 10am. This will be Anowara directed by Zahir Raihan and played by Abdur Razzak. Then at 2pm “Alor Michil” directed by Narayan Ghosh and played by Abdur Razzak will be screened. Both of the films will be screened at the International Digital Cultural Archive of National Theatre Hall on the sixth floor.

The memorial programme is set to be cherished by a number of senior members of Bangladesh’s film movement. Filmmakers Amjad Hossain, CB Zaman, Haider Rizvi, Masihuddin Shaker, Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Delowar Jahan Jhantu will lead the series of speakers due to deliver at the event.

Then there will be film critics and researchers Dr Mohammad Jahangir Hossain and Fahmidul Haque. Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, president of Film Directors’ Association will also be present.

Hasanul Haque Inu, Minister of Information will be present as chief guest while architect Lailun Nahar, president of FFSB will chair the event.
