Dhaka – Eight boys’ singles and four girls’ singles matches were decided on the 2nd day of the Bengal Plastic Asian 14/U Series Tennis Tournament at the Raman National Tennis Complex here on Tuesday.In the boys’ singles, Maxwel Heward (HKG) beat Mahadi Hasan Alve (BAN) by 6-4, 6-1 game, Sunny Nuruzzaman (BAN) beat Hamim Hasan Mahmud (BAN) 6-2, 6-2, Emon Islam (BAN) defeated Jongmin Son (KOR) 6-2, 6-3, Rakesh Ratnasingham (SRI) outplayed Shohel Pasi (BAN) 6-4, 6-3, Shawon Pasi (BAN) crushed Khaled Aiyan (BAN) 6-0, 6-0, Rakib Hossain (BAN) overcame Ahad Yasin (BAN) 6-1, 6-4, Ronjit Sarkar (BAN) trounced Utsho Zubaid (BAN) 6-2, 7-6 and Dayan Sheikh (BAN) beat Araf Yasin (BAN) 7-5, 6-0 to reach the next round.In the girls’ singles, Eun Ji Jung (KOR) beat Raina Shay Lal (BAN) by 6-4,6-3 game, Gi Woo Choi (KOR) defeated Mashfia Afrin (BAN) 6-0, 6-0, Shravasti Dev got walkover against Min Kyo Jung (KOR) while Yeong Eun Ryu (KOR) beat Susmita Sen (BAN) 6-2, 6-0 to move the next round.UNB news agency
