Premier Volleyball: Titas Club, PDB declared joints champions

Dhaka- Titas Club and Power Development Board (PDB) were declared joint champions on completion of the Crony Group Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Volleyball League at Dhaka Volleyball Stadium on Wednesday.In the day’s last league match, Titas Club beat PDB by 26-24, 21-25, 25-22, 25-27, 17-15 points to share top slot jointly with PDB securing 25 points each. Later, both the Titas Club and PDB were declared joints champions in the league.Water Development Board finished runners-up while and Border Guard Bangladesh became 3rd in the league.Harjit Singh of PDB was adjudged the best attacker, Sujon Ali of Titas Club named as the best defender while Nepalese player of Water Development Board Dan Bahadur named as the best setter of the league.In the 2nd Division League, BKSP emerged champions beating Banani Nabarun Sangha by 25-13, 25-19, 25-17 points in the final at the same venue Wednesday noon.Earlier on Monday, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP clinched the Dhaka Metropolis First Division Volleyball League title beating East End Boys Club by 25-17, 25-20, 25-20 points in the last league match at Dhaka Volleyball Stadium.After the Wednesday’s Premier League match, Prizes of the Metropolis Premier, First and 2nd Division Volleyball Leagues were distributed at a function at the same venue this afternoon.State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Shikder was the chief guest at the closing function. Bangladesh Volleyball Federation President Mohammad Atiqur Rahman and general secretary Ashiqur Rahman Miku were also present on the occasion.UNB news agency
