Popular fusion band Chirkutt will render title song of upcoming government granted film Beauty Circus. Director Mahmud Didar, who is going to make his directorial debut with this film, confirmed the news. The film that depicts struggles of women in patriarchal society has finished its shooting and currently in post production stage. “We have selected Chirkutt for the title track. The lyrics has already been finalized, the music composition is underway. The song will be recorded after Eid. After recording we will shoot the music video,” said the director.
“Chirtkutt has rendered songs for films like Aynabaji, Doob, Television and others and they have received good response from music lovers. I hope audience will love the title song of Beauty Circus as well,” added he.
Chirkutt’s vocal Sharmin Sultana Sumi said, “We at first studied the film’s plot and unreleased footages before writing the lyrics. The film depicts a powerful story of a woman who makes a stand against the patriarchal society. It is a story of courage which very much goes with our regular song choice.”
“Joya Ahsan is a very strong actress. The film was very colorful and courageous. People will not only be entertained but also be encouraged, especially women. We are trying to make the song matching with the theme so that people feel encouraged while hearing the song,” she added.
Beauty Circus, a government grant winning film, stars Joya Ahsan in the lead. Joya plays the character of Beauty, owner of a circus troupe names Beauty Circus.
Chirkutt’s current lineup comprises Emon Chowdhury (guitar), Pavel Areen (drums), Sharmin Sultana Sumi (vocal), Didar (bass) and Nirab (keyboard).
