Manikganj, Nov 24 – At least 10 people were injured in a clash over a trifling matter at a wedding party in Dehgram area of Sadar Upazila on Saturday.Groom’s uncle Sohrab Hossain claimed that two young boys—one attending the wedding party and the other of the village–locked into an altercation over driving a motorcycle on the road beside the wedding house in the afternoon.
Later, the youth along with his men swooped on the party-comers with sticks, leaving 10 people including the bride’s father Fulon Bepari and brother Mosharrof injured.
Three bhoris of gold ornaments from the groom and TK 50,000 from groom’s brother were allegedly snatched away as well as furniture was vandalised during the skirmish.
The injured were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
A case was filed with Manikganj Sadar Police Station, said Rakibuzzaman, officer-in-charge of the police station. – UNB
