The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Tuesday called on the Chinese government to set up industrial parks in Bangladesh. The call was made during a meeting between the FBCCI leaders and a visiting delegation of the Standing Committee of People’s Congress of Yuxi City of Yunnan Province, China, at the FBCCI Bhaban. The Yuxi delegation was led by the Standing Committee deputy director Zheng Yunlong, while the FBCCI side by its director MA Momen. MA Momen recommended that Chinese businesses can invest in Bangladesh by setting up industrial parks which will allow them to take full advantage of the country’s cheap labour and low production cost. The China delegation welcomed the FBCCI proposals, and said they will take up that with their higher authorities.- UNB
