JP chief Mostafa Jamal demands fresh national election

Dhaka, Oct 8 (UNB) – Expressing grave concern over the current socio-political situation, Chairman of a faction of Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Mostafa Jamal Haider has demanded fresh national election under a caretaker government by dissolving the current parliament.

“Only a government to be elected by people through a fresh election can resolve the crisis,” he said while addressing a discussion organised by Bhasani Onusari Parisad marking the 5th death anniversary of Language Movement hero Abdul Matin in the city.

The function, with Advocate Sultan Alam Mallik in the chair, was also addressed by Noim Jahangir, Aktar Hossain, Aminul Islam Selim and Kazi Mohammad Nazrul.

Speakers protested the killing of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Science and Technology (Buet) who was beaten to death allegedly by leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, and demanded punishment of the killers.
