Book marking Bangabandhu’s birth Centenary published

The life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were eulogized at the publication ceremony of a book on his birth centenary on Friday.Unveiling of the cover of a book ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Janma Shata Barshhiki Antorjatik Smarok Grontho’ compiled in Agartala by some lovers of the great leader was held at the Bangladesh National Museum auditorium.
This book happens to be the first publication marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Prime Minister’s advisor for foreign affairs Gowher Rizvi was the chief guest at the Function while national professor Anisuzzaman unveiled the book’s cover.
The book has been edited by Dr Debabrata Dev Roy of Agartala. He, along with 49 noted persons from Agartala and 5 others from Kolkata joined the program which was presided over by Rezaul Haque Chowdhury Mushtaq, convener of the publication ceremony.
Dr Gowher Rizvi recalled the cooperation extended by the people of Agartala to the people of Bangladesh during the war of liberation in 1971 and said this would always be remembered with respect. He thanked the writers from Agartala for their initiative to publish such a great compilation.
Prof Anusuzzaman said Bangabandhu envisioned Bangladesh and organized the successful movement for its independence that was culminated through the war of liberation.
Debabrata Dev Roy, editor of the book said the people of Agartala had the same mother tongue and culture like the people of Bangladesh. Underscoring the need for people to people interactions, he invited Bangladeshis to visit Agartala. He termed Bangabandhu as a leader not only on Bangladesh but also the world.
The program was also addressed by Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, member secretary, Bangabandhu Birth Centenary Celebration National Committee, poet Ashim Saha and literatteurs from Agartala Dr Ashis Kumar Boidya, Niyoti Roy Barman and poet Koyan Gupta, editor Rabindra Porishad Tripura. – News Desk
