DRU Media Cup Football kicks-off Sunday

Dhaka  – Eight matches will be held on the opening day of the Walton Smart Fridge-Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) 6-a-side Media Cup Football Tournament that kicks off on Sunday (March 15) at Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here.

Opening day’s (Sunday) matches are: ATN Bangla vs Ekushey TV (8:30 am), ATN News vs Amar Sangbad (9 am), Amader Sangbad vs Bangladesher Khabor (9:30 pm), Jugantor vs Rising BD (10 am), Sangbad Pratidin vs Jababdihi (10:30 am), Shomayer Alo vs Bhorer Dak (11:am), Bangladesh Post vs Manab Zamin (11:30 am) bdnews24.com vs Sangbad (12 noon).

Forty eight teams from different media houses will compete in the nine-day meet exclusive for the journalists, organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) and sponsored by Walton Group.

All the participating teams will get participation money of Taka 1,000 for a match and the best player of every match will be awarded with a crest.

The champion team will receive Taka 40,000 and the runners-up team will get Taka 20,000 as prize money in addition to trophies.

Besides, highest scorer and fair play trophies will also be given

Participating teams are: Kaler Kantho, Bangladesh Television, bdnews.24com, Sangbad Pratidin, Rtv, Asian TV, Korotoa, Amader Sangbad, Jagonews24.com, Amader Shomoy, Jamuna TV, Janakantho, ATN Bangla, Naya Diganta, Barta 24,  Radio Today, New Age, Observer, Rising BD, Manab Zamin, GTV, Channel 1, ATN News, Bhorer Kagoj, BSS, UNB, Sangram, Ajkaler Khabor, Samakal, Jugantor, Channel 24, Ekattor TV, New Nation, Bangla Vision, Ekushey TV, Bangladesh Pratidin, Khola Kagoj, Jababdihi, Dhaka Times, Nagarik TV, Bangladesh Post, Bangladesher Khabor, ShomoyerAlo, Inqilab, Ittefaq, Bhorer Dak and Daily Sun.UNB play their first match on Monday at 11am against state powerhouse BTV.
