Discussants at a training course here have stressed for ensuring
proper management in the cooperative societies to alleviate poverty
through attaining self-reliance by the poor in building a medium
income nation.
They were addressing the daylong regional training course on ‘Accounts
Management in Cooperative Societies’ organised by Rangpur Regional
Cooperative Institute (RRCI) at the cooperative auditorium in the city
on Sunday.
Twenty-five cooperative activists from different upazila level
cooperative societies from all over Rangpur region took part in the
training course presided over by Principal of RRCI and Deputy
Registrar Muhammad Masudur Rahman.

Haque of Panchagarh, Trainer AKM Rabiul Karim, Course Director Naznin
Akhter, General Secretary of Balapara Banik Cooperative Society Sarwar
Alam Mukul, addressed.
The speakers said proper account management with good governance in
the cooperative societies could unite the poor people to enhance
productivity in all rural sectors including agriculture and eradicate
poverty.
They stressed for strengthening the overall cooperative movement at
the grassroots levels, enhancing cooperative loan schemes for small
and marginal farmers, small-scale rural entrepreneurs and other
backwards sections in the society.
Effective cooperative management in the grassroots level cooperative
societies can accelerate the process of developing human resources and
leadership to eradicate poverty through increasing productions and
creating jobs, they said.
They asked all concerned for making best use of the allocations being
provided by the government for rural developments in the process of
building poverty, exploitation and hunger-free nation to make
