The digitisation process that continues as a part of implementation of the ‘Charter of Changes: Vision 2021’, has already become successful in turning Bangladesh into a middle income nation very soon.

narrated the successes achieved in education, health, agriculture, power generation, women and children development, climate change adaptation, poverty alleviation and employment generation, spreading ICT etc during tenure of the present government. She also elaborated tremendous success achieved in the fields of social safety net, food security, institutionalizing democracy and decentralization of power, good governance, combating corruptions, family planning, nutrition, infrastructures, housing and many other sectors during the past five years.
Kawnia upazila vice-chairmen Rafikul Islam and Selina Akhter Talukder Sheuly, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kawnia Thana Abdul Latif, Miah, Medical Officer of Kawnia Upazila Heath Complex Dr Rokeya Sattar and journalist Sarwarul Islam Mukul, addressed as the special guests.Upazila level officials of all government departments, heads of educational institutions, NGO executives, public representatives, educationists, socio-cultural, women and human rights activists, entrepreneurs of UISCs, professionals and journalists participated.The speakers said successful implementation of the Vision-2021 has made online digital facilities and information and communication
technology (ICT) available at the union information service centres (UISCs), upazila and district web portals for all.The people are getting all necessary information, services and benefits through the UISCs about agriculture, health, medicare, education, sanitation, admission, human rights, legal aid, employment, marketing produce etc.The digital services like e-purjee, e-governance, e-education, e-agriculture, e-health etc have created mass public awareness on woman and child rights, family planning, female education, birth registration, drug addiction, repression, reproductive health, environment and movement against terrorism, militancy and corruption,
they said. They said digitisation has been ensuring women empowerment, adolescents’ health care, nutrition and eradication of dowry, child marriage, superstitions, human trafficking, self-employment etc everywhere and at all levels in the society.In his speech, the chief guest hoped that Bangladesh would become a middle income nation ahead of the year 2021 if the development activities in all sectors continue at the current pace for the nextfew years. –BS, Rangpur
