Harvest of Aman paddy is nearing completion in 10 districts of Khulna division during the
current season.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said farmers of the southwestern districts
cultivated Aman paddy on 6,75,978 hectares this year with a production target of 17.48 lakh
tonnes of rice.
The 10 districts are Jessore, Narail, Jhenidah, Magura, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Satkhira,
Khulna and Bagerhat.
Farmers are expecting a bumper production of the crop this year as the per acre yield of the
paddy is ranging from 25 to 26 maunds, DAE sources said.
The officials and local farmers have attributed the bumper production to a favorable climatic
