Detective Branch (DB) of police detained a banker for his alleged involvement in political activities of Jamaat from Raipara area under Rajpara Police Station in the city last night.
Police also seized some party leaflets and books written by Golam Azam after searching the bag of Abul Kashem, a cashier of Sonali Bank Limited, Railway Branch, Rajshahi. Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan, DB’s Police Inspector, said Abul Kashem had long been involved in organisational activities of the party.On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid in the area and picked him up around 9.30 pm.A case has been lodged in this connection and the detained person has been sent to the court, Bhuiyan added. -BSS, Rajshahi
