The written tests of the compulsory subjects of the 34th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations will begin from March 24. The fresh exam schedule would be announced later, the PSC said in a notification on Sunday evening.
The examinations will be simultaneously held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Rangpur and Sylhet centres.
The PSC on Sunday also republished the results of the 34th BCS preliminary examination, including the 280 indigenous candidates, who were excluded from the revised results.The PSC republished the preliminary test results on Sunday afternoon in compliance with a recent High Court order.
The High Court, in a public-interest litigation, ordered on Feb 11 the republishing of the 34th BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) of test results.
On Jul 31 last year, the High Court issued a rule asking the PSC to explain why it had dropped the names of 280 successful indigenous from the revised results following a writ petition filed by 59 of the indigenous candidates.
The PSC, on July 8 last year, first published the result of 34th BCS preliminary test in which 12,033 including 280 indigenous candidates were cleared.
But the results sparked a widespread agitation by students in Dhaka and elsewhere claiming that many ‘meritorious’ students who had taken the test had been left out.
Later, the PSC on July 14 published a revised result in which 46,250 candidates passed but the 280 were excluded from the revised result.
Sunday’s republished results come after a High Court order on the matter issued on Feb 11.
