Member of the Parliament from Panchagarh-1 seat Nazmul Haque Pradhan said this while addressing concluding ceremony of the six-day Bhasha Sainik Muhammad Sultan Book Fair-2014 in Panchagarh on Wednesday night as the chief guest.The district administration of Panchagarh organized the fair at
Panchagarh Government auditorium in observance of the Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day-2014.Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ahmed Kabir presided over the ceremony participated by the officials, academicians, teachers, students, youths, civil society members, politicians, professionals and elite.Panchagarh Zila Parishad Administrator Abu Bakar Siddik, former Principal of Panchagarh Mokbular Rahman Government College Professor Gias Uddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shamsul Azam, Additional District Magistrate Firoz Ahmed, Headmaster of Panchagarh Government Girls High School Rekha Rani Debi and Journalist Shahidul Islam Shahid addressed as the special guests.Different institutions and organisations set up twenty-five stalls in the fair displaying varieties of books and hundreds of book lovers of all ages thronged the fair daily.The speakers put emphasis on increasing habit of reading books by all people and encourage the others to acquire more knowledge in the process of building an enlightened society.They called upon all concerned to uphold the values and sprit of the great Language Movement that sowed seed for the struggle for Independence that was achieved by the nation in 1971 through the War of Liberation.The chief guest stressed for arranging such events and cultural programmes frequently in all educational institutions to generate interests among the common people, especially the young generations, in our rich cultural and literary heritages.He also distributed prizes among the winners of different competitions
