The 94th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day will be observed here on March 17 in a befitting manner as elsewhere across the country.The program was chalked out in a meeting held here Sunday with DC of the district Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in the chair.The two-day observance program chalked out by the local district administration will begin on March 15 through displaying mobile cinema show titled ‘Chiranjib'(Immortal) Bangabandhu at various points of the town and also in upazillas. On March 16 recitations of poems on Bangabandhu, art and patriotic song competitions for children will be held at Shishu Academy here.In the morning, on March 17, local district administration, political parties, Awami League and its front organizations and various socio-cultural organizations will place floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu kept on local Ambica Maidan.
A centrally arranged Milad Mahfil will be held at Shah Farid Dargah mosque and special prayers will be offered at mosques, temples, Ramkrishna Mission and churches. A voluntary blood donation camp has been organized at Ambica Memorial Hall.In the evening, a discussion meeting on the life and works of Bangabandhu will be held at local Kabi Jasimuddin Hall.A number of sub-committees have been formed to make the three day program successful.BSS, Faridpur
