Khaleda, Hasina schedule sought to discuss HR situation

The Federation of Human Rights Organisations, a platform of different local right bodies, has sent a letter to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia seeking her schedule for holding a meeting with her about the country’s human rights situation.Azmeri Begum Chhanda, an executive of rights body Nagorik Odhikar Swadhinata, came to BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office carrying the letter on Sunday around 6:40pm.
BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar received the letter, signed by Federation of Human Rights Organisations’s convener Dr M Shahjahan, on behalf of Khaleda.
Talking to reporters, Chhanda said, “We’ve given the letter seeking the BNP chairperson’ schedule for holding a meeting between her and a 57-member delegation of Federation of Human Rights Organisations to discuss issues relating to the country’s human rights condition.”
She said they will also send a letter to the Prime Minister to get her schedule to hold a similar meeting. – UNB
