Dhaka – The eight-team Marcel Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) Football, country’s 2nd string football league, will begin at Bangabandhu National Stadium on October 29.T&T Club Motijheel, Police FC, Agrani Bank SC, Victoria SC, Youngmen’ s Club, Fakirerpool, Karwan Bazaar Pragoti Sangha, Chittagong Mohammedan SC and Saif Sports Club — will compete in the tournament
on a double leg basis,UNB News Agency Reported.T&T Club Motijheel will play Saif Sports Club in the inaugural match at 4:30 pm. Police FC will face Karwan Bazar Pragoti Sangha the
following day (Sunday) at 3:15 pm at Kamalapur Stadium.The logo unveiling and contract signing ceremony of the league was
held at a function at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Monday.BFF Senior Vice-president and Chairman of the Professional League Committee (PLC) Abdus Salam Murshedy was the chief guest at the function. PLC Deputy Chairman Abdur Rahim and BFF member Elias Hossain were also present on the occasion.Abdus Salam Murshedy signed the contract for BFF while FM Iqbal Bin Anwar signed contract on be half of Marcel, a product of Walton Group.Besides, officials of league co-sponsors — Mohammad Yousuf of Premier Bank, Monirul Islam of Pragoti Insurance, Ziaur Karim of Eastern Bank and Manjurul Karim of Max Group — and BFF general secretary Abu Nayem Shohag also spoke on the occasion.As per the contract, Marcel has been named the title sponsor of the ensuing BCL to be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium and Kamalapur Stadium where no foreign player will be entitled to play.The champions team will receive a prize money of Tk 5 lakh while runners-up team Tk 3 lakh in additional to trophies. Besides, all the participating teams will get appearance money of Tk 5 lakh each.
