DCCI, MCCI and CCCI form BUILD Trust

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Metropolitan Chamber of

Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (CCCI) jointly formed BUILD (Business Initiative Leading
Development) Trust. Presidents of the three esteemed business
chambers of Bangladesh signed a Trust Deed at a ceremony at the Westin
Hotel on Saturday, said a press release. Through the signing of the
Trust Deed, BUILD is now an independent institution, further
invigorated to continue its efforts as a research backed Public
Private Dialogue (PPD) platform. Business Initiative Leading
Development (BUILD), since its inception in October, 2011, has been
working proactively with the private sector and government of
Bangladesh to carry out research on policies, practices and
regulations affecting businesses in Bangladesh with the objective of
developing recommendations and advocating for their reform. BUILD
receives technical assistance from the Bangladesh Investment Climate
Fund (BICF). BICF is managed by the International Finance Corporation
(IFC) in partnership with the UK Government and the European Union
(EU). Representatives and dignitaries from partner organizations,
including past presidents of DCCI and MCCI, directors of the three
chambers, Managing Director of SME Foundation and Chairman, BUILD were
present on the occasion. – UNB
