The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Tuesday released the video footage of four suspects of the Gulshan café attack.Uploading the video footage on the Rab facebook page, the elite force urged people to inform to the nearest Rab Battalion or camp about the identities of those suspected individuals detected in the video footage, said Rab media wing director Mufti Mahmud.
People have also been requested to call over mobile phone No 01777720050 for providing information about the suspects, he said.On July 1, gunmen stormed Gulshan’s Holey Artisan Bakery and took guests and employees hostage.Twenty bodies, including nine of Italians and seven Japanese nationals, were recovered from the crime spot the following day.Besides, two senior police officers—Banani Police Station officer-in-charge Salauddin Ahmed Khan and Detective Branch assistant commissioner Robiul Islam—were killed as they tried to rescue the hostages.The crisis ended following an army-led joint forces’ operation – ‘Operation Thunderbolt’. Two policemen and six militants, of whom one later appeared to be a staff of the Bakery who may not be involved in the attack, were also killed.The only injured suspect who was arrested during the operation later succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital under police custody on July 8.He was also a staff of the Bakery and police is yet not certain about his involvement in the attack.
