1.27 lakh Bangladeshis to perform Hajj this year

 A total of 127,198 Bangladeshi people are expected to perform Hajj in Saudi Arabia this year.

Religious Affairs Ministry announced Hajj Package, 2013 on Thursday. The holly Hajj will be held on October 14 this year depending on sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia, said an official release.

Of the total intending Hajj pilgrims, 10,000 will perform Hajj under government management while 117,198 under private sector management.

Two Hajj packages have been announced for the people who intend to perform Hajj under the government management. The pilgrims under Package-1 will have to pay TK 3, 47,027 while TK 2, 78,742 under Package-2. Besides, each intending Hajj pilgrim will have to carry 450 Saudi Real (TK 9450) for Kurbani (sacrifice).

The last date of depositing Hajj money (under the government and private managements) is May 30, 2013.

All the intending Hajj performers have been asked to collect application form from Deputy Commissioner’s office, district and divisional offices of Islamic foundation, Deen-e-Daowat office of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram, UNO offices and 23 listed bank branches, Room No 103, Building No-8 of Bangladesh Secretariat and Hajj office in Ashkona, Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the intending Hajj performers could fill up their form through online website www.hajj.gov.bd.

No private agency would be allowed to announce package less than government fixed lowest package.

Those who performed Hajj within five years would not allow performing Hajj this year.

 

Biman Bangladesh Airines Limited, Saudi Airlines and other private airlines approved by Tourism Ministry and Civil Aviation will carry the pilgrims. UNB
