10-km run in Dhaka

Dhak – Bangladesh is set to get its first certified distance race next month, in the form of the ‘CCCL RUNBANGLA International 10K’ AIMS, the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, is pleased to welcome Bangladesh as a new country to its family of elite world races from 125 countries and territories.

In joining AIMS, the ‘CCCL RUNBANGLA International 10K’ joins elite prestigious distance races from around the world including the Athens, Beijing, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, Comrades, New York, Paris & Tokyo Marathons.

The race will be staged on March 13, 2020 in Dhaka, which has settled for a less grueling distance of 10 kilometres, less than a quarter of a marathon, in which athletes complete 42 kilometres.

AIMS President Paco Borao comments: “Everyone at AIMS would like to congratulate the CCCL RUNBANGLA International 10k on becoming the first AIMS member certified distance running event staged in Bangladesh history.   We hope this first in nation event will inspire other future races in Bangladesh to obtain AIMS membership and certification.”
