107 new books hit Book Fair Thursday

A total of 107 new books hit the Amar Ekushey Book Fair on the 20th day of the show on Thursday.   Among the new books, the collections of poetry with 25 titles lead the tally, followed by 16 novels, 8 short stories and 7 of essay and 6 for children.   The covers of 10 new books were unveiled at the book fair today, said a press release of Bangla Academy. Later, in the evening, a discussion titled ‘Quality of Higher Education in Bangladesh: Problems and Prospect’ was held at the main stage of the book fair.   Chaired by Public Administration Secretary Poet Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, the discussion was addressed, among others, by Poet Dr Mohammad Samad, Dr Shahinur Rahman, Jinat Huda and Prof Shahidul Islam. – UNB
