Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested two alleged drug peddlers in possession of 44 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from a house in Kalighat area of the city on Wednesday night.The arrestees were identified as Shuvo, 22, son of Aftab Uddin, a resident of Mehdipur Sherpur village in Nabiganj upazila, and Abul Kalam Jamal,25,son of Badsha Miah, a resident of Etakhola village in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district Jebedur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner of DB, said on secret information, a team of the detectives conducted a raid on the house ‘Moshahid Mansion’ in the area at about 7:00 pm and arrested the duo.Later, law enforcers recovered 44 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from their possession.
The arrestees had been involved in drug peddling for long, police said.A case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act. -UNB, Sylhet
